A school like this would be wonderful and is very much needed in Plymouth. This condition is still so misunderstood by many and a 'free school' would allow children to develop to their full potential in a caring, encouraging and supportive environment.

As a parent i definitely agree that this school is needed. Lets also see more SEN units set up within mainstream schools .Our children have so much to offer society they just need this good foundation to help them flourish.

Yes there is a need in plymouth for more provision for children with high functioning autism. As a person in education I can confirm that there is indeed a gap.

My son is autistic and we had lots of problems,with schools,it's about time this was sorted and recognised properly,too many children are being failed and there is no help or support for young adults with the condition either!!

I do believe more privision is needed for
High functioning autism.. and any thing that can help this has my thumbs up :)

While I do agree that provision is desperately needed for children presenting with high functioning autism I am concerned about free schools and would prefer that schools change to becoming more autism friendly and in fact more pupil friendly as the system does not presently prepare any of them well for living in a harmonious society. Having said that if we have no alternative other than to set up a free school I support this.
