My son has high functioning autism and may really need this school when it's time for him to move onto secondary school! There are so many children with autism in Plymouth and no school for the ones without a learning disability.

I have worked with young people with challenging/emotional behaviour, autism, smith magenis syndrome throughout my years in care & would gladly do voluntary work for this cause.

Certainly high-functioning autistic pupils deserve/need the extra hep which will ensure they take their place in society.

this is totally vital in our area if this had been available when my son was educated he might not have struggled so much he was diagnosed at 20 with dyslexia. I knew there was more to it though he is 33 now and 13 years after his diagnosis for dyslexia he has just been diagnosed high functioning asperges he wanted to know 'why he was different to other people why he did things a certain way' his words not mine, he lives a full and happy life with his partner and family but he feels a part of himself is missing I always knew he was on the spectrum but knew there was no help available to him "then" so I dealt with the matter myself through love and and encouragement and sometimes sterness but always out of the best possible interest for my son.

There certainly is a need for such a service and I can think of many children it would benefit.

every child deserves a chance to reach their potential in an environment where they can focus on their strengths and not the barriers they have to overcome before they can start learning. This is such a vital service for certain children including my own son. i fully support this resource

I work in an ASC unit situated in Paington. I understand that there is a need for a unit in Plymouth and would be very interested in getting involved with the project.

This is something we need! Provision in Devon is non existent for our children. We don't want to send our children out of county but most are finding it's the only way to get the right education and support for ASD children.

There is a free school like this trying to be set up in our area too (Harwich) children and parents will benefit greatly if these schools are opened.

This is really needed. The up shot is also a development of a higher functioning community and specialist education pathway
