The NRC has historically been extremely lax in enforcing safety issues. We have never had a more serious issue than this one, and you must step up and do your job this time.

Not sure if we have already signed this, but I'm doing it again because this issue is SOOO important. Our residents need to pay attention. Their very lives could depend on it.

Has Edison invented a metal that doesn't corrode in salt water? What do average ocean front structures look like after ten years? After a century? When nuclear poison leaks out of the caskets buried in the surf zone (we know higher tides are coming), who fixes it and how? Can somebody put the genie back in the bottle? If Edison doesn't want to fix their mistake now, do we think they will step up later?

Hard to fight the legal firepower of a utility only focused on money, but we have to try to make the right decisions as it pertains to our environment and local citizens in San Clememte

Nuclear power plants are insanity from their very advent. Should never have been built.

It is the NRC's duty to protect the safety of the public and ensure SAFETY is paramount at San Onofre to protect the lives and environment of the region from LA to San Diego. We ask you to act upon your conscience and recognize the many lives and living things that would be irreparably impacted without proper precautions and due diligence around SAFETY measures at San Onofre. The public and future generations are counting upon you to do the right thing on behalf of your own families and that of 8 million more. Additionally, San Onofre sits on the sacred ancestral lands of the Acjachemen Nation and safeguarding these lands is an imperative so that the current generation and future generations can continue their cultural practices.

How is it possible that they can do this? Wrong times infinity! I wonder where the shareholders would put the waste if they lived nearby.

These are valid points. Public safety must be prioritized and stronger safety / contingency procedures established.

This "accident" is just another example why this dry storage solution near a major population center and transportation corridor is unacceptable. The only solution is storage in a location hundreds of miles away from areas frequented by millions of human beings.

The continuing disregard for public safety is infuriating. It is time to dis band this farce and come up with a board of citizens and regulators participating together with public safety as the driver!
