Chapin's iconic and historical building has already been marred by the addition of floors in a different and unattractive style. In addition, it will deface the neighborhood to add so much more height to the building. I strongly oppose.

I strongly disagree with proposed addition of 3 stories to Chaplin.
This will drastically alter the quality of life on east end avenue.

Please do not approve the The Chapin school's plan for additional floors as this expansion is wreaking havoc on a residential neighborhood
The Chapin School is demonstrating that same cavalier arrogance, showing total disregard for its neighbors and neighborhood that NYU has displayed downtown for years. It is as odious uptown as it is downtown. Stop the variances and stay focused on quality of life!

The construction crews work 7 days and yes a federal holiday labor day from 6:30 in the morning to almost midnight. The lights are always on and blinding. I don't know how they get away with these blatant abuses.

chapin has been worse than inconsiderate, abusing the permits granted to the extent that it feels they are intentionally punishing their neighbors for opposing their unfettered expansion. The existing addition blocks sunlight during the day and the lights they leave on 24/7 force us to keep the blinds closed and the a/c on even on mild summer nights. Chapin's arrogance is appalling.

The construction is loud. the workers continue to block traffic and double and triple park.

Our family with 4 school aged children suffered greatly through the first project unable to sleep due to early morning noise from construction and impacting on their own school day. Now another project for 3 more years? And on nights and weekends? And severely limiting parking and ability to have deliveries without horns honking to move trucks and cars due to single file traffic when a truck or car must stop to do a delivery? Please have some consideration and respect the rights of your neighbors for a peaceful co-existence.

This neighborhood is not zoned for the building that is planned. The current work is already destroying our peaceful neighborhood.

It is beyond disgusting how the Chapin School carries on with no regard for their neighbors. To be allowed to start construction at 7am and go sometimes through the night SEVEN days a week is absolutely unfair to us. It has been incredibly stressful to be in your apartment and be woken up to the noise and then unable to sleep because they're still working, not to mention it goes on all day long. Do what everyone else does and rent separate space. This is not a commercial zone and the building is already ugly. Adding to it and disrupting us for another 3-4 years - I don't care how much money they have or who they pay off, we have rights too. Absolutely sick of them.

The noise is unbearable with loud machinery, screaming of workers, banging and never ceases not even during the middle of the night. It must cease immediately!

The daily noise beginning prior to 7:00am is unacceptable. Those making the decisions to allow this work to continue do not live in this community and show no regard for the property owners that must put up with this. My summer has already been ruined, how much longer must I tolerate this project that gives nothing back to this neighborhood.

Our apartment is at end of the terrace directly exposed to the work in back of Chapin School. The worst part of the noise is not the machinery; it's the constant yelling, fighting and swearing amongst the workers. It is very loud and goes on from early morning into the evening.
