This 'police officer' is not trustworthy enough to be entitled to the job. Anyone who would do something this serious, can't be trusted with anything. Sack him now!

This beggars belief. The cop needs to be at the very least disciplined, but getting fired would be better!

He broke the law, something he was meant to uphold. He allowed his personal bias to threaten the safety of lives and should be held accountable to the fullest!

Shame on the police service for not addressing this dangerous and corrupt behaviour. A pay cut is nothing, what a joke. We place our trust in you. Sack him!

What this officer has done is an abuse of power and he should not be allowed to continue in his position as someone who works with vulnerable people. His actions and language are dispicible not to mention criminal, accessing the data and deliberately hindering a police case. He has no respect for women, the law or the police force so why are they protecting him?

How could the QLD police force want or accept this 'police officer' to continue representing them after this reprehensible behaviour?!?! not just the giving out of the address but speaking about her in the way he did, to anyone, let alone to the perpetrator?! People like him are extremely dangerous and make a bad name for all the good police who would never do anything like this. Surely other QLD police officers want him kicked out too?!

Why do the victims get blamed for not turning to the police for help when this is what they get in return. Make an example of this man for the right reasons.

When this sort of thing happens it severely undermines the faith women have in seeking help from the Police. Just disgraceful and it is high time police are held accountable for their actions. They are NOT above the law themselves!!!

How is the public meant to put their faith in police when this is allowed to happen and he is allowed to remain in his job?
This sets back all the hard work of police over the past few years in encouraging women to report DV. Integrity is easier to maintain than to repair. How has he not been a) suspended and b) charged with misuse of public office/wrongfully accessing data?

Too many women and their children die at the hands of their current or former partner. It's not a joke and this officer is why so many women are scared to get help.

My Dad was a Police Officer, and he would be horrified that this excuse for a human is still allowed to serve in the force. Fire Neil Punchard and charge him. How can this be allowed to happen? He clearly doesn't portray the character that it takes to be a law abiding citizen, let alone a police officer.

This is exactly why women no longer trust Police and the justice system - because neither care about women or children. How dare he do this to victims of DV. Those children will suffer their entire lives, and so will their mother, all because a cop couldn't help but forward his own personal hatred of women.
