On April 24, 2012 Alliyah Lopez- Ayala past away by accident in the home where she lived. Department of Social Services took the other 2 children in the home, 14 year old Alex and 2 year old Elliana (Nena). On Thursday April 26, 2012 the court gave Alex to David and Teresa Strickland but kept Nena. We have everything that Nena needs to live in our home. Bedding, clothes, food, ect... David had a DSS case over 10 years ago so they are using it as an excuse not to give her to us (David and Teresa). But they just placed Alex in the home. We keep a clean home, we don't get into trouble, we dont do drugs, we dont even drink... Please sign this petition. We have to turn it in at court on May 24, 2012... Thanks you for helping us BRING NENA HOME... LOVE, TERESA AND DAVID STRICKLAND (AUNT & UNCLE TO NENA)
We are spending our time gathering everything needed for our upcoming day in court because your belief in our family has given us so much hope. It is overwhelming to see so many people who care about Nena and understand why she belongs with us. This is happening because you opened your hearts to our situation.

I am honestly overwhelmed by the kindness shown to our family in such a difficult time. This level of support belongs entirely to you because you gave us hope when things felt impossible.

The system is so broken. They already cleared your home for the brother so why hold the little one back? Absolutely shameful.

This poor baby needs to be with her family. What is wrong with these people at DSS? Let her go home to her aunt and uncle.

It makes no sense to split the siblings up like this. They should be together with family who loves them. fix this courts.

RIDICULOUS. DSS is holding her for no reason when the brother is already there. Makes no sense at all.
