We the undersigned members of the WEBB genealogical research community do hereby nominate and elect Senator James Webb of the state of Virginia to membership in the WEBB Surname DNA Project. We believe this nomination and election to be in the best interests of American and WEBB family history, respecting the many Webbs who have served this great nation in the military and elective office, as well as in daily life, since the arrival of Thomas Webb, gentleman, of Suffolk at Jamestowne, Virginia in 1607.
By accepting this nomination and election, Senator Jim Webb will be obliged to spend five minutes one evening and the following morning swabbing his cheek and placing the swabs inside the return packaging and depositing it in the US Mail. In return, he will be granted access to our Company of Adventurers, and to our web site Participant Area at www.webbsurnamedna.org where he can view his results and the lineages of his DNA matches. We agree to extract his genealogical information from his book and post his resultant lineage inside the password protected Participant Area. Furthermore, he will be invited to attend WEBB family reunions such as may be staged across this nation.
By this petition we declare our willingness to call him \"cousin\" regardless of race, ethnicity, hair color, gender, religion, or political affiliation. We humbly beseech him to complete the DNA test kit which we will arrange to be delivered to his Office at 144 Russell Senate Office Building, Washington, DC 20510 along with this petition.
Duly signed by the following Americans: constituents, supporters and opposition alike:
I am currently coordinating with the project administrators to verify the delivery process for the testing kit. Please email the Senator's office today to ask if he has received our formal invitation to participate in this historical research.
November 25, 2007
The momentum behind this project shows that plenty of people want to connect our shared history through the WEBB DNA database. Now send an email to Senator Webb at his official office to urge him to accept this nomination and complete his kit.
