There is no type of reform just holding people in cells doesn't make them want to do better. Many of the punishments don't fit the crimes and people are constantly getting rich on keeping the cells closed. Then again wasn't that the plan from the start???

I agree with this bill. Time brings on a change and the inmates have had plenty of time to rethink life and understand that violence is not the answer. Allowing them the opportunity to get their freedom back will allow them to talk to our young generation today about being real men and women and not letting the streets and violence ruin their lives. They can talk to them because they have been through it and knows how it feels and what the outcome would be.

I agree that if they have served at least 20 yrs and are over the age of 50 and didn't commit a murder during a sex crime that they should be paroled. If it was a life sentence for a sex crime or a crime against a child they should not be paroled for any reason.

I support bill SB#424 and I ask you to support it also, please sign bill SB#424 into law.

This is not a bill asking to let violent offenders free to hurt or kill again. It's a bill asking that those who have served their time be given a second chance IF they are eligible according to specific guidelines set forth. While there is great grief for those who lose loved ones to violence, there is also great grief to those who lose loved ones to this system. I'm not against judgment and punishment. I'm simply against UNRIGHTEOUS judgment and punishment. I stand in support of SB 424.
