This is my struggle to try to get the bereaucratic red tape authorities in London to give artists permission to be able to sell their art in the streets of London:

I did contact the WCC to try to find out how to get a licence to sell my artwork and this is what I found out:

I can only sell artwork in either Bayswater Road or Green Park.

The artwork has to be originals and not prints.

The licensing fee is £93. approx.

The problem I have with that is that the fee is firstly far too expensive I know its a one off payment but after that I then have to pay a further £7 each time I use a stall in those two areas which I feel is restrictive.

Buskers can pretty much busk anywhere. So why not artists sell their art anywhere?

The other thing is that my artwork takes a long time to create several months and so when it comes to an original painting being sold, the prices will be quite high in order to reflect the time it takes to create one.

So if I make A4 and A3 sized prints and price them at an affordable price then people will be able to afford it.

I used to sell my prints to tourists in Trafalgar Square and made a lot of tourists happy with my artwork.

So I thought the next logical step would be for me to get either a license or some kind of permission slip to sell my prints in Trafalgar Square?

I look forward to hearing from you soon I have attached pictures of my paintings

Kind regards
Lindsay
