Selena Quintallia-Perez is a major influence in the Latin music world. She has inspired so many, not just in Latin music, but in mainstream music as well. If it wasn't for her untimely passing, she would probably be on the top of landscape of music today. Selena paved the way for some many popular acts today. Such as, Jennifer Lopez, Beyonce, Demi Lovato, Becky G, Shakira, Kacey Musgraves and so much more!
Not only does Selena deserve to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. She needs to be there. As it is her rightful place.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is not just for Rock and Roll, but for all music. When a lot of people think of Latin music, they think Selena. She put Latin music on the map.
With this petition, I hope to get as many people I can to sign it so I can send it to Jon Landau, the head of the nominating committee for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Seeing the count climb toward one hundred names reminds me how much her memory still means to all of us. I need everyone who has signed to send this link to two people who loved her music as much as I do. We have to show the committee that her legacy is impossible to ignore.

Selena has made an undeniable, gargantuan impact on the music world. Her songs have defined an entire generation and are not limited to Tejano alone. She tapped into many genres and is remembered as a versatile performer. One of the best and most iconic of the late 20th century.
Selena deserves this because she has broken barriers not only as a woman but as a Mexican-American beyond her living and in her death she has become an iconic like Elvis Presley , john Lennon, Michael Jackson and many more.
Selena is worthy of inclusion into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as she was inspiring beyond her community and beyond music genres. Chris Perez, her lead guitarist, comes from a rock and roll tradition and influenced the sound of Selena's band.
Tragically lost to us so young, but still influential to young artists. She was one of the first to crossover to the rock and pop charts. If she had lived she would have done the Super Bowl half time show a long time ago.
Selena encapsulates the heart of rock and roll by dressing for herself and not the way others wanted her to, as well as breaking into a music genre full of people that didn't want her there. Even if she didn't make regular rock music, she's an icon in her own right.
She has been a major influence for the Hispanic community for years!
Why not? She is rock and roll.
