Tragically lost to us so young, but still influential to young artists. She was one of the first to crossover to the rock and pop charts. If she had lived she would have done the Super Bowl half time show a long time ago.

Selena is an inspiration for latinos everywhere, particularly in Texas where she brought Tejano to the mainstream. She is still the #1 latina artist that drag queens in Austin and San Antonio dress up as and you see her everywhere. My ex even gave me cups with her image on them.
