Seeking Leniency for SAFE Act Convicted American Veteran

It's bad enough that he got a DWI for asking the officer to turn his body camera on but what a sham getting him on the Glock magazines in that locked container. Give this guy a break, if not for him than his son. Another slap in the face to a veteran! The cop who arrested him should be ashamed of himself!

Please show judicial leniency for this honorably discharged veteran and special needs father. Furthermore I see the safe act magazine restriction as unconstitutional in nature from what I have read and researched about it, and feel as a citizen that it is wrong to persecute this man under these circumstances. In my opinion he should be free to raise his child, as he violated no ones right to life, liberty or the pursuit of happiness. Thank You for your consideration.

I had the honor and privilege to serve as combat medic in the same company as Simeon during the invasion of Iraq in 2003. I can say with out a doubt that he was one of the best Non Commisioned Officers in our company at that time. He is a man of good character and integrity. He was always taking care of his soldiers. He consistently put the safety and welfare of his soldier's before his own. I specifically remember him volunteering to provide security in a vehicle with me while we took a young, pregnant Iraqi woman to the hospital who was going in to labor. This was in the middle of the night in one of Baghdad's most dangerous neighborhoods and we were traveling alone in one humvee. He understood the risk he was taking and he stepped up for our safety, and the safety of that Iraqi woman and her baby. He was what we called a soldier's soldier, the best of the best. I ask that you consider this during Simeon's sentencing. He served his country in the most honorable way on the battlefield and in garrison. Simeon needs to be at home for his son. Not in prison. He's a good man, with the highest morals and values. We all ask for leniency during this sentencing. He is a veteran, he is a patriot, he is not a criminal. Thank you for your consideration. I hope you will reconsider the charges on this soldier who served his country! There will be more harm done than good!

Following only the letter of the law and igoring the spirit altogether will doom us all.

The letter of the law versus the spirit of the law. This vet has served his country, and his son needs his father. Let him go.

Convicting Mr. Mokhiber is a travesty of justice. There should be no sentence of confinement for him. Dictator Cuomo (who was too scared to serve in the military) must not be allowed to punish an American hero like Mr. Mokhiber (who served honorably) through the illicit restrictions imposed by Cuomo's unconstitutional NY Safe Act.

He served his time by serving his country. Let him go

Color of the law vs letter of the law.

there is no reason this man should serve 21 years for carrying pistol magazines. he served our country honorably and put himself in harms way to defend the rights he is being sentenced for.

I would ask not for leniency but for the conviction to be overturned altogether. This law didn't save lives or protect anyone, it turned a good guy into a criminal all by violating his rights.

Have mercy

or government is out of control . What ever happened to the principle of "consent of the governed to be governed" ? Instead of electing people who make laws limiting citizen's rights we should elect people who make laws limiting government power.

I'm a fellow veteran from the 82nd. Good luck this case should be thrown out.

This is unfair

This is ridiculous.

He is a solider who fought for our freedoms, and know is a law abiding citizen. That law will continue to affect innocent people.
