This is really unacceptable......the Excise Duties rate are too high and unreasonable seriously will impact on our local liquor business industry! Pls be considerate!!!
Many factory will have to shut down, if the increase takes effect it will create more illegal backyard factory that has no control in quality,if this happens government will loose actual control of the liquor industry, ie tax. Many family depends on this industry to survive and it has been in their business for generations.
Not reasonable to increase duty by 300%. This is just like killing off this industry. Now, with this new duty the market price of locally bottled alcoholic beverages is 15% less to imports.
Our industry is not fully operating for almost 2 months due to complication of the tax structure and unclear instructions. How can our SME get treated like this? We are all license companies and must get treated like one. We want to get on with our business ASAP, not lying like dead fish waiting for our fate. This is serious.
Unreasonabley increases will kill many local industry. That will weaken our country financially

The local liquor industry employs thousands of hardworking Malaysians so why penalize an entire industry made up of many SME. I am sure MOF can generate additional revenue elsewhere.
