Just like that disastrous idea to build a bridge from saybrook to Long Island, a travesty successfully shot down in my youth, this plan is ludicrous. STOP THE LUNACY. PEople get to Boaton or New York plenty fast. We don't need to wreck the most beautiful place on earth to make them get from a to b faster, for god's sake. ABSURD

My husband and I love Old Lyme and I can not believe that the FRA would plan to cut through the Town the way the FRA proposes. I vote against this irresponsible plan.

My family has lived in Old Lyme since 1640. We treasurer the Town's history and have on many occasions worked hard to preserve the historic buildings and culture. Cutting through Main Street with a high speed rail would be disastrous. I vote against the FRA's Plan and its impact on Old Lyme.

No devastation to these towns.

A terrible idea that does nothing but ruin the character of the area and barely enhances travel times on the rails, which are unable to sustain themselves anyway without subsidies. Ruinous to the community and environment, and makes no sense fiscally or practically.

No way! Don't ruin this beautiful town.

I am not sure the planners really understand the effect something like this will have on an amazing historical area as this is. This should not happen simply put.

Never. This should never happen.

I lived in Old Lyme for 25 years and still have a strong connection with my hometown. This proposal has some serious problems and to ruin historic areas. There are alternatives that need to be strongly utilized.

We do not need this going though the villages of Connecticut!

Have any of the planners ever visited the areas involved? Have they walked along the streets? Enjoyed the essence? The beauty? The color? The history?

This is an absolutely absurd idea! We in Lyme, Hadlyme and Old Lyme are absolutely against putting a rail through Old Lyme, We won't support it at all and will do whatever it takes to stop it.
