DO NOT allow this...Look at Malloy raising rates on trains...We are NOT Europe and not enough people even use trains to support it.No need to expand and ruin towns. It only saves a few minutes....ENOUGH CT!

Senator Blumenthal's comments are accurate. This bypass seems to be costly and unnecessary with negligible return on investment.

This plan would destroy the historic integrity of Old Lyme and the surrounding areas. It would be a disaster, not only for the many artistic venues in the area, but for the residents of this beautiful town. Outrageously ill conceived and very poorly thought out and researched idea.

One would think,, to increase revenues and ridership, the high speed line connecting Boston to New York, should go through Worcester, Springfield, and Hartford.....The rationale that in 40 years parts of the shoreline tracks will be submersed is quite frankly ridiculous.
.....Forty years from now our means of travelling might be quite different than what is currently envisioned.
.....This project seems like another government driven scheme to increase the size of government.

Old Lyme is forever my home. I believe in rail travel but not at the expense of my town's historic value when it could be routed could be elsewhere. I have not seen why it could not parallel Amtrak's current tracks.

I drove through this area today. We were commenting on how wonderful it is that all the quaint shops and museums in the town are staying quaint and are all still doing well in business even in this economy. This area is wonderful and will be decimated by this railway!
