SEC students objection to the new academic block system

We stand together and clearly state that we do not need the block system.

While the Block System introduces several progressive advantages, it also presents significant structural, academic, and operational challenges that must be acknowledged and carefully managed. Without robust planning, faculty readiness, and student adaptability, these limitations can materially impact learning outcomes and institutional effectiveness. ⸻ 1. High Academic Intensity and Cognitive Load • The block system compresses course content into a shorter time frame, increasing: • Daily class hours • Assignment frequency • Assessment density • Students are required to absorb large volumes of information rapidly, which can: • Overwhelm average and slow-paced learners • Reduce reflection and consolidation time • Promote short-term memorization over long-term understanding Reality check: Not all students thrive in high-velocity learning environments. The system rewards speed as much as comprehension.

The Introduction of new block system creates some pressure and stress among the students to complete the programming courses within 45 days. Many of us feel very difficult to adapt to the new system and we are flexible and comfortable with the old system itself. Kindly consider

Greetings sir / madam, I would also like to express my concern regarding the newly implemented block system. Completing core courses, especially programming subjects within a condensed period of 45 days, along with extended continuous class hours, has been quite challenging for all of us. This structure limits sufficient time for practice, revision, exam preparation, and participation in skill-development activities such as events, workshops, and hackathons. The sudden shift from the previously flexible system has made it difficult for students to adapt, and it has increased academic pressure. We are not against improvements or new learning methods; however, we kindly request you to consider with the previous flexible system that allowed better understanding and overall development. Changing of academic system. This is unfair to change the academic system as at the time of joining management said that they will be flexi learn and it will continue till 4 years. But as of now the management has suddenly changed to block system. Students cannot handle this stress i.e, modules,cia examinations . So, kindly change the system to flexi learn.
