We, the undersigned students of Saveetha engineering college, Thandalam, respectfully express our objection to the sudden implementation of the new academic system in the current semester, including batch division, course classification, and the Term I–Term II structure. This abrupt change has caused confusion, increased academic pressure, and mental stress. We had planned our studies based on the previous system, and the lack of clear information about batches, courses, and evaluation has disrupted our preparation and focus. We request that the new academic system be withdrawn for the current semester and that the existing system be continued. Any new system may be introduced in future semesters after proper orientation and sufficient time for students to adapt. We hope our concern will be considered in the interest of students’ academic stability and well-being.

While the Block System introduces several progressive advantages, it also presents significant structural, academic, and operational challenges that must be acknowledged and carefully managed. Without robust planning, faculty readiness, and student adaptability, these limitations can materially impact learning outcomes and institutional effectiveness. ⸻ 1. High Academic Intensity and Cognitive Load • The block system compresses course content into a shorter time frame, increasing: • Daily class hours • Assignment frequency • Assessment density • Students are required to absorb large volumes of information rapidly, which can: • Overwhelm average and slow-paced learners • Reduce reflection and consolidation time • Promote short-term memorization over long-term understanding Reality check: Not all students thrive in high-velocity learning environments. The system rewards speed as much as comprehension.

New block system focuses on finishing portion in ver short period of time which makes grasping and understanding concepts much harder. Even completion of portion in time is difficult which makes teachers to rush through the portion. It's also very stressful as we have to complete all project works and assignment in very short time.

I am writing to bring to your kind notice the difficulties being faced by students due to the newly implemented block system and batch division. Under the new structure, the semester has been split into separate terms and students have been divided into different batches. Because of this change, many students have been separated from their regular classmates and academic groups. This has led to inconvenience in coordinating studies, sharing notes, participating in group activities, and maintaining continuity in learning. The sudden change has also caused stress and emotional discomfort among students. We are finding it difficult to adapt to the new arrangement within a short period of time. I kindly request you to review the present block system and its batch allocation process, and consider making necessary modifications in the interest of students’ academic comfort and well-being. I hope you will kindly look into this matter and provide a suitable solution.

We respectfully wish to bring to your attention our serious concerns regarding the recently implemented new system, as it has caused major disruption to our academic preparation and overall study planning. Due to this sudden change, our entire study plan has collapsed. Completing soft skill and foundation courses within a short duration of 45 days is extremely difficult. Even first-year students themselves have clearly stated that this time frame is insufficient. In fact, nearly 90% of first-year students have not been able to complete programming courses under this system, which clearly indicates the impracticality of the structure. Additionally, expecting students to attend 4 to 6 hours of continuous classes in a single day is highly stressful. It is unrealistic to expect students to stay fully attentive for such long durations, and this directly affects concentration, learning quality, and subject-focused preparation. This system creates mental pressure and makes it hard to balance academics effectively. Moreover, we are second-year students who have already followed and adapted to the previous system for nearly three semesters. We became comfortable and flexible with that structure. Introducing a completely new and intensive system at this stage is highly disturbing and mentally exhausting for students. We chose this institution because it was promoted as an Anna University–affiliated autonomous college with a flexible learning system. That flexibility was a major reason for our decision to join this college. Had we known that such a rigid and pressurizing system would be implemented, many of us would have opted for SIMATS or other institutions instead. Changing the system in this manner feels unfair to students who joined with specific expectations. We respectfully request the authorities to reconsider or revise this system. A more flexible, student-friendly approach would help us prepare academically without unnecessary stress and mental strain. We hope o

This system is stressful and can't understand the subjects, just writting cia's by studying 2 or 3 question in a short time has no use and portions are not fully covered.

The block level system is very stressful

the short duration does not provide sufficient time for learning, practice, and revision, which makes it very hard for students to cover the entire syllabus during examination time. This affects both academic performance and the mental well-being of students.
