Saw a huge one near the park at 2pm yesterday. They arent scared of people anymore and it is only a matter of time before someone gets hurt. Fix this now.

as a resident of seal beach , i feel it is important to get this taken care of we were lucky …. few months back we had one in our back yard face to face with my Westie. he was lucky we were home to acre him off other wise the outcome would have not been good , since then they are no longer allowed to play outside unattended . It makes me sad we can not even enjoy our back yard. We bordered west garden grove and they have stared trapping and the number have decreased. put a stop to the eating of our port baby animals

To IB: The city paid for the trappings in Garden Grove, and we went almost 6 months with no sightings and no losses. I do know they are back now in GG and mainly because surrounding cities are doing nothing and so they are coming back now. Dog control issues? If a pack of Pit Bulls, German Shephards, Rottweilers, even Poodles were roaming the street, Animal control would be called immediately and they would be trapped and put into the system, yes? If they are aggressive and attack, the police or AC would shoot, yes? If you lived in another state, where there are bears or wolves...and the animals were breaking into your home, yards, streets, or worse, attacking someone, doesn't AC euthanize the wild animal? The problem is the coyote isn't afraid anymore, but we are. People don't haze. The remain in their homes, cars or run away or even worse, stand there and do nothing. Unless and until EVERY SINGLE PERSON hazes them and makes it so incredibly uncomfortable to be around humans, they will continue to come and they will continue to grow more and more aggressive, until (gasp) and it will happen. Just last week, a coyote tried breaking into a plate glass window to get to a cat while a little kid was there too. Also last week a 6 foot man was walking his dog ON LEASH and a coyote grabbed the dog and ran away with it. Thankfully, the man had a 9 iron and smacked the coyote and was able to retrieve his dog (after his dog lost an eye). Last summer (perhaps the summer before), a little girl was dragged off by coyotes at the cemetery.
The cost is minimal compared to the lawsuits when a person is attacked. I for one, would definitely sue my city for not protecting me when they know there is a real problem.
