This petition is put together by SDASA members, who would love to see great attendance at the 2011 end-year conference. Attendance is not only about numbers but it is about the fellowship and the bonds that are strengthened amongst us as God's children during our conferences.
It is with concern that we note the steep increases in camping fees, coupled with that the recent petrol hike which may result in higher transportation costs and the possible spill over effect on other fast moving consumer goods. The above factors are likely to negatively impact the conference attendance.
Due to the above-concerns we have decided to put forward our suggestions to the SDASA EXCO through the use of this petition.
Please add your name, surname and chapter on the following petition if you would like the SDASA National EXCO to do the following:
1. Lower the current camp fees of R1400 per student and the unemployed; R1800 for professionals and R300 pass for day visitors
2. To extend the camping days from 10 days (22 Dec 2011 – 1 Jan 2012) to 12 days (20 Dec 2011 – 1 Jan 2012)
This petition also supports the idea that EXCO looks for alternative accommodation in order to be able to achieve the above two requests.
The deadline for the petition is Thursday 3 November 2011.

The response to this request has been overwhelming and it shows just how many of us are struggling with these costs. I am exhausted by the planning process but seeing this level of agreement gives me the strength to keep pushing the leadership for changes.

times are tough with the petrol prices going up every week. dont make the conference another burden on us.
really hope they fix this. fellowship is the whole point of the camp
THE FEES ARE RIDICULOUS. HOW ARE STUDENTS SUPPOSED TO AFFORD THIS???
R1400 is way too much honestly. most of us are trying our best just to get by right now.
please listen to us exco. we really want to be there for the fellowship but the prices are just pushing people away.

It feels like we are being priced out of our own event. please reconsider the costs so more of us can attend.
