Please stop building all these apts and condos while using our open spaces. Overpopulate area and not providing parking is just wrong

This proposal is too dense for the area to be livable without unhappiness; too many people in too small an area, and a parking nightmare!

I urge the City Council to vote NO on the Riverwalk project. It is not suitable in its current state for this area in Mission Valley. • The neighborhood is dense already and cannot absorb the scope and size of this plan. • The adjacent freeways already get dangerously bottle-necked getting into, out of, and passing by this area. • It’s already dangerous for current residents to enter/exit condo driveways along busy Friars Road. • Implementing this project will most certainly contribute to increased freeway and roadway fatalities in this area because of compounding already unsafe conditions, not to mention the negative health impact to current residents during construction, as well as after construction. • The best way to “go green” is keeping the existing floodplain green belt – not paving over it. Scientists say planting trees globally could be the single most effective way to fight climate change. • With rising sea levels forecast for the future, combined with this area’s yearly floods – some devastating – placing the Riverwalk development in the proposed site, in the floodplain, is a recipe for disaster. • In all the years I have lived in Mission Valley, only once have I seen a traffic counting strip laid across Friars Road in front of our condo complex and it was during a national holiday when everyone was off work and at home with their families. I remember thinking, “Why would anyone want to gather traffic data on the least traveled day of the year? That would give inaccurate data.” I wonder if any of this data was used when developing the Riverwalk proposal. • For every person signing this petition, there are probably hundreds, if not thousands more that feel the same way and would sign if they knew about it. Projects of this size that affect so many nearby neighborhoods should be voted on by the citizens of San Diego.

Absolutely not! Just because there is open space in Mississippi valley doesn’t mean we have to build on it. The traffic will be horrible and it will ruin our views.

I am not opposed to this development but there needs to be the proper infastructure development and parking to accomodate the amount of residential and commercial being built.

There are far too many large developments (four in fact) in the building and planning stage between this riverwalk and the Pacific ocean.

Less density please.

Just sold my condo there because of increased traffic even before this proposed development starts.

Please retain our open views and allow access to the river

I live off of Friars road and have seen how the traffic has increased dramaticially over the years. WIth all the construction of apartments, especially Cevita, it is way too over crowded and dense along Friars road already. The cars parking on the side of the road along Friars in front of the already existing apartments make dangerous driving conditions. A young man was just killed a few days ago on Friars trying to pull out of the driveway of his apartment complex onto Friars road. He was T boned by on oncoming car due to poor visibility. Please reconsider this plan!

No more apt, condos.

We have too little open space in Mission Valley and the river is inaccessible, so of little use.

We need to demand better of developers and politicians! Bigger is not better. I value our quality of life!

Very bad plan

Politicians and developers will not be happy until every blade of grass is gone and the freeways are jammed 24/7.

News flash! No San diegan wants worse traffic. We are already crammed into the point and now you think adding thousands of new residents to the entry of the point is a good idea? San Diego has already had a long history of being run by morons....the legacy continues. NO NEW CONSTRUCTION IN THE MIDWAY AREA

Mission Valley is already too crowded. The drive east on HWY 8 from beach area is a nightmare. I have to leave Clairemont at 4:00 pm to arrive at a class starting at 6:00 pm to avoid the horrendous traffic. Also, the plan does not include necessary infastructure additions. Vote no!
