I don't work due to high cost of childcare and the long waits for military childcare. My husband has to drive uber and Lyft to make ends meet and we live in housing. A house that is way too small for a family of 4 and we pay almost $3,000 a month for it.

The hardest and most stressful move in his navy career out of 8. We had to borrow money to feed our children for a year until we could get a much smaller 800 sq ft house with 4 people.

We are a family of 6 and 3 of 4 kids are teenagers ..... we struggle every month with food shopping and we only shop at the commissary that adds up to over a $1.000 just in food . Everything here is too expensive and as a family we cannot go anywhere and take the kids absolutely NO WHERE because we won't have money to feed the kids . If we take all the kids to ex: universal studios we will end up eating ramen for the rest of the month and I do work also and still have no money for save or any emergency .

With wait times of up to 4 years for navy housing families are forced to live in town. Each time BAH goes up, so does rent. This is the only way to make sure the money goes to families and not landlords.

The cost of living in San Diego is outrageous, And we are a 2 person family....no kids. We live paycheck to paycheck and Cola should definitely be considered for military families in SD.

Because of the cost of living in San Diego my family has been forced to live apart. We can not afford to live in San Diego with all our children and pets. This is the hardest thing we've ever had to do.

Coming from a small town in Virginia it is definitely hard to make it out here in San Diego. We can not get out of debt and out credit cards are maxed out. Getting COLA would help tremendously.

Difficult to afford childcare with limited spots available in base childcare Centers. On top of gas traveling btwn childcare, bases, & home.not alone the traffic using up the gas

San Diego rental prices are through the roof! We could not find a rental within bah, so we are paying a little over $100 extra a month just for our house. That's not including any utilities! I was beyond shocked when we received our first electric bill that was $575...and that's just to have electricity. San Diego is by far in desperate need of COLA to help offset some of the crazy expenses this city forces is to pay.

My husband is Navy and I work full time mainly to help pay for a babysitter and try and pay for our other bills since we barely get any BAH back and that's with living on Miramar base while his duty station is Coronado since we can't afford anywhere else to move to... any help would be a great relief!

After packing up our family and moving to San Diego we have found that it's just not affordable to live here in any way. Food prices are through the roof and gas is sky high. We chose not to live in military housing after reading too many bad reviews. We're out in Spring Valley, because nothing any closer was remotely in our budget. This means we're pretty far from all the support systems and resources, and can not access them.
