The cost of living is ridiculous here please help!!!

I can not believe how much it truly cost to live here. When you go under BAH the homes are VERY old, and when you go over BAH, you are trying to make ends meet. It's sad how we have to worry about money when we already have so many other things to worry about with our heroes and family.

Our military families shouldn't have to worry about safe living conditions and basic living costs. SD is expensive in all categories.

We live in Hawaii after being in San Diego. We get cola here and honestly believe San Diego also should get cola. Not as much as Hawaii but something.

San Diego is now just as expensive as Hawaii and we aren't getting a cost of living allowance. We arrived in San Diego a year ago and have depleted our savings and gone into debt in that little amount of time. The cost of existing here is too much. Even with all of the free bread things once a week, it is just too expensive here to survive. Things cost less over in Okinawa, Japan and we were still given a cost of living allowance.

im shocked that san diego isnt included in the areas that receive COLA pay. The cost of living here is outrageous

We struggle paycheck to paycheck because our 2 bedroom 1 bath military housing is $2,000 a month! We both work full time jobs, but with rent raised so much we maybe get $200 for other bills. My husband is talking about sending me back home during his deployment just so we don't have to pay for a house that is not worth 2 grand.

We need the cola and the bah, we came from Hawaii and what a difference in pay and living conditions. The cola helped maintain our household and aid with groceries and diapers but now we find ourselves never being able to get ahead again. We used to have a nice savings account and felt proud about it, it now that is gone because of the cost of living in San Diego. It's more expensive than Hawaii and we got cola there and a very high bah rate.

It is so hard to live here in San Diego. Groceries and gas are way far out of reach. When you try to get a place out in town to save money out of our BAH to offset here costs it is impossible here. Not only does housing suck but the piddly BAH would throw us more in the ghetto so we have to depend on base housing and they're pretty ghetto themselves. We as military families don't rate food stamps because we " make too much" as they take BAH into consideration even though we don't see a cent. So we need COLA

I highly recommend military personnel receive COLA in San Diego due to the contsant increase of daily living expenses.
