After serving as a stationery aircraft carrier Malta deserves the honor to host in its waters a British flagship carrier. This will serve as an underwater monument to all those who perished in the Mediterranean serving the cause of peace and all those who gave their lives for their country honorably no matter what country. It will be an honor for HMS Illustrious to rest where many scores were settled from the beginning of civilization.

The British government is ignoring our history but they cannot ignore a hundred signatures staring them down. Send this link to anyone who understands the legacy of the Mediterranean and demand that they stop dragging their feet.

My farther was in Malta for 4 years during ww2 , He said he was one of the lucky ones,he came home, this Ship would be a great momorial to all who fort and died there
sir - i could think of no better location than in the mediterranean waters of an ally - AND for the benefit of all who travel there regardless of nationality.
It would be fantastic for the diving fraternity who visit Malta and would surely increase visits to the area. Ideally it should be sank at a depth available to as many divers as possible. Over time it would also become a fantastic haven for marine life.
Not only to commenirate WW2, for which the Illustrious name is synonymous in Malta, but importantly for tourism, specifically diving tourism. Our product needs to be fresh.... And keep being refreshed.
For all that Malta did during WW2 it would be the best resting place for HMS Illustrious, and knowing Malta is a special place for HM Queen and Prince Phillip which is very apt .

Would be a great asset to Malta's diving industry. I've dived Malta every year for over 30 years and would love to see a significant wreck addition. Top decks not to be too deep would be a huge advantage.
