If you think that the Eagle of the Graf Spee must be put in a museum, sign this petition.

The Graf Spee was a German cruiser that fought in the Atlantic during WW2.
The ship's commander ordered the ship to be scuttled to prevent it from falling into English hands near Montevideo, Uruguay..
The ship had a bronze eagle on the bow, that was recovered in 2006. the eagle weighs 350 kg and has a wingspan of 2.8 meters.
The future of the eagle is uncertain, it risks even to be destroyed since it's a Nazi Symbol.
I think it should be put in a museum, like all historical finds.
Cancel the history is an error.
If you think the same, sign this petition.

No doubt of great historical value. The Graf Spee was one of the first ships equipped with radar and from a sentimental point of view it is important to preserve history, rather than dismissing it. The eagle should be preserved in a museum.

I am no Nazi, but to destroy the Eagle is idiotic and destroying it would be destroying history and a slap in the face to both the British and German sailors of the battle. It should not be destroyed, maybe put on display as a memorial to the sailors.

This Eagle should be save at all cost history shouldn't be censored. Genghis Khan killed so many people still we have his statue in Mongolia there are many people who committed war crimes still we have their statues. Give that to a museum or it you couldn't just place it back at the bottom of sea floor from where it was picked.

I live in Uruguay. The history of the "Graf Spee" isn't talked a lot in here and the history matter. I like World War 2 and I condem the actions of the Nazi's but the Eagle of the Graf Spee is a fundamental part of history and for Uruguay. It should be in a museum as any other "artefact".

This is an important piece of ww2 memorabilia, and the fact it's a Nazi German era Eagle, should not consign it to the dustbin of history. I'm sure no one would suggest doing anything like that, were this an American Bald Eagle from the wreck of some equally notable ship of the American WW2 fleet. Thank you.

I live in Argentina. My grandfather worked with marines of the Graf Spee in a traktor factory. Nice decent people he said. And 5 of them were present at his funeral. Save the Eagle please. Destroying parts of the past history won't make a better future.

We're well past time when this sort of historical desecration should be tolerated anymore. The "logic" seems to be that Nazi book burnings are bad, but any book burning or other destruction by a self-proclaimed "anti-fascist" is good. Enough with the double standards!
