Eastlink was paid well to supply rural broadband service and now wants to shame us for daring to use this service in the manner we choose. The government needs to step in and stop this glaring abuse of the monopoly they have on this service.

How can you even justify capping a service that is second best? The following is a quote, copied from the archives back in July of 2011..."EastLink High Speed Wireless Internet Advantages
Social Networking: You can catch up on the latest with your children and grandchildren, family and friends through Facebook, Twitter, Skype and other social networking applications.
E-Commerce: Do your banking, pay your bills or shop online.
Distance Education: Take online courses, become a DYler (Do It Yourselfer), or learn more about your favourite hobby.
News, Music and Videos: Read the latest news from here and around the globe, play your favourite games, or download music and videos." (end quote) WHAT A FARCE!!! Empty promises, and full pockets. You should be ashamed.

Eastlinks service is terrible in Jordan Falls, what's the sense on capping something that doesn't work anyways.

Speed should be the only factor that determines what price bracket it's in! Greed is all this is about!

We don't even technically have high speed internet rurally. 1 Mg on a GOOD day is not considered high speed by ANY definition, and we pay WELL ABOVE what people with Fibre Op pay and now they want to cap and hike our fees??? WHAT CAN BE DONE? This is KILLING our communities!!!

I was already denied internet from eastlink because I live in on the north mountain. They couldn't get a signal even tho all over my neighbour's got it. They didn't even try the high side of our house or put a pole on the lower side. We called and complained and asked if they could come back out and try again and they refused and they were Rude!! Common it's 2015 we should have wireless Internet everywhere!!

When I called them this morning when I read the news article, I was told that beginning August 1st they were going with the 15 GB cap and we would be paying the usual fee, $46, and if we go over that, then we pay an additional $2 per GB up to a max of $20. That will go on until November, at which time they are going to lift the cap, but we would still be paying the $2 past the 15 GB...So basically your bill could get way out of hand quickly if you use it like you normally would. I was told as of today my usage was at 24 GB, and its only the 7th of the month....

With the proposed cap, I will be unable to edit my videos for my clients and will be unable to grow my business.

I'm outraged , the government contract runs out, which they failed to completed (where is the lawsuit from the government) and then they try to use the partially government paid for infrastructure to charge us cell phone rates.
