Absolutely not acceptable.Terrible thing to do to your customers I feel a lot of your customer will be switching to other providers if you do this.

This is a greedy and sketchy decision Eastlink has made. I don't have rural broadband with them (luckily), but I do computer work for a lot of people who do. Once their contract with the government ended, their service and support for rural Broadband turned to crap, and NOW they want to charge those poor people even more money? Come on! Way to take advantage of your almost-monopoly in rural areas Eastlink...

it is like we are living under Dictatorship now. We are paying high costs already for Internet. We can send men to Mars and to the moon but they can't run lines out in rural areas so everyone can have bundle packages which are more affordable. Shame on Eastlink. It is all about greed not caring about in customers

This is ridiculous. I live 15 kms outside of the town of Yarmouth so I should be punished because I have to live where I can afford it?

This is exactly what I was thinking. I wouldn't mind seeing Eastlink completely out of the equation and Seaside stepping in. Seaside announced upgrades to their equipment to provide 5mbps and Eastlink caps their 1.5mbps service.

Eastlinks Jill Laing said that when the rural connect was started Netflix was still maoling movies. True. Netflix also adjusted and upgraded as the demands grew. Eastlink needs to do the same. Seaside Wireless is making a mockery out of Eastlink. If Eastlink won't provide a responsible service let Seaside Wireless take a shot at it.
