Very unfair. The service is very poor as it is and then put a cap on. Please!

We are being ripped off because east link knows we have no other options!!!! The service is horrible the speed is comparable with dual up on most days. Instead of up grading their system and providing a quality service they put a cap on it. That is not the way to keep customers happy. And this customer will be cancelling as soon as another option is avaible!!!!

It is ridiculous that a modern day Broadband company should be employing such dumb ass practices.

As I said, according to their FAQ, they do not cut you off. It's a money grab.

The cap is unfair,, the service is poor, the company's commitment to doing what it promised to is lacking. Government should intervene.

We don't even have access to half of the anticipated cap our service is so poor. Our upload is 0.3Mbps (Not MB!) and download is 0.6Mbps. That is unacceptable by any standards, unless you are stealing from your customers and pretending to provide a "service"!

This is just a camouflaged price hike as they don't cut you off after spending the $20 limit.

This cap is ridiculous, it's no where near manageable with a family of 5, which is out situation

You want economic diversification perhaps you might consider making sure rural areas like this are served effectively so freelancers can live in rural Canada and still make a living.

I will be visiting the area soon and I run an US-based Internet Marketing Company. Please upgrade this terribly slow miserable service. Investing in Internet infrastructure is important to the local economy.

I understood from Eastlink that we could determine our Data Usage. Just go on the eastlink.ca website on your own computer and follow instructions. I have tried that - repeatedly - a number of times past week(s). I was unsuccessful in getting anywhere at any time!
The technician at an Eastlink mall outlet could offer no directions either. He suggested I telephone Eastlink's technical support. I have just tried that.
It was 9:18 pm. I got to speak to their rural broadband department at 9:25. First question to me was: "Are you using a rotor - perhaps you need to disconnect some lines..... " I said I wasn't about to disconnect anything.
So the 'technician' said she would check to find out if my computer "might have to be 'hard-wired'". Five minutes later she informed me that she could not find out how to tell me to access the information I wanted; but that she could get it herself.
She apologized that this was "all new" and "everyone is not up on it yet!!!" At 9:46 she said "it would not bring her the information" and that "the resolution department is now looking at it".
After a further hold, at 9:50, the information was delivered: "THE SYSTEM IS DOWN". "Try back in 24 hours when it should be fixed!!!" I don't think I will.
