I find it outrageous that eastlink is trying to get away with this. I want more competition and if need be, the province should help finance more competition to keep eastlink from gouging its rural customers.

I have always hated that Bell does not pass in the rural areas and if they did they would take all of Eastlink's money away. Bout time Eastlink stepped up before Bell makes a move.

It is the 21st century, upgrade and provide everyone with equal service. Have to rethink our services with Eastlink with this....enough already

Our current Eastlink service is at an unacceptable level , we are paying for a service that is just a level above Dial-up and now Eastlink wants to customers to remedy its inadequacy by putting a cap on usage . Maybe Eastlink should follow the example of the rural provider on the Northeastern area of Nova Scotia by increasing the bandwidth at no additional cost as opposed to limiting customer usage . What makes you think we will pay more for less ?

My internet connection is very slow and sometimes it takes me up to 1/2 hour to connect... Sure not high speed and now all you can think about is how to make more money off of the poor people who can only get tower service

Eastlink has a lot of gall to be asking their customers to accept this. I have been hoping for improved service not a cap to say the least.

I believe that the monopoly system is not working. It gives the consumer no real free choice and thus no honest capitalistic system that they claim is in operation. Bell refuses to cross the road and provide me with a high speed alternative to Eastlink.

EASTLINK wants to put more money in their pockets. Between Lighthouse NOW, the Chronicle Herald, and Live at 5, it's straight forward. Eastlink wants to get as much money from the customers, even though their speed is 1.5 megabits per second, which simply isn't what's now needed. Modern websites are designed for faster speeds. Just as the article in the Bulletin states, "If the municipality owns the infrastructure it makes the profit, instead of the profit going to big companies." If the municipality truly considers this Eastlink will have to do the necessary upgrades without additional charges to the customers. The competition would take the power from Eastlink. I know of people who have cancelled their cable and phone service as they have cell phones and they can watch anything on TV on the internet instead.

This move appears to be a ploy to push customers back to cable TV and away from services such as netflixs...bring on the competition if there is no reconsiderations...

Would gladly pay a bit more for better speeds .... But to put s cap on snail's pace Internet is just wrong .......

If eastlink want to make it fair for everyone, credit us back for all the loss of usage we've experienced over the past couple of years! I guarantee you my service plan would remain in a credit status for a good many years to follow.
