Experiencing constant hangups and disruption to internet service for the last two days. When you try to connect with Eastlink by phone, you enter the options and the phone rings once and then goes silent. You're left on hold for 10 minutes and no one picks up. This petition needs to pick up steam and move forward to government. Eastlink's monopoly needs competition.

This is just totally wrong for a company that is labeled 100 best managed companies to expect that these under handed fees can be charged without any consoltation to its customers. And even worse that the CRTC and our government allows it to happen. Lee Bragg should be ashamed to allow his company to treat customers this way.

This is so unfair and I literally feel like Eastlink is stealing from me... How they can possibly justify increasing a monthly bill by 40% for what already was a substandard service is incomprehensible. This is not for me the ability to watch a "net flick " movie. This is my ability to be employed and work as a home based consultant. Shame on them ... And to add insult to injury they are advertising themselves as one of the " best managed companies" I think not!

BellAliant offers unlimited internet, 1.5 gig down, 650kb up, for like 49.95 a month, use them and force Eastlink to reverse its decision the right way, by defeating them in the marketplace.

Seems like I'm paying for a service that I seldom get to use. Slow is not the word for downloads and trying to watch a movie on Netflix or play a video game is senseless. We deserve better, a rural customer should expect the same service as anyone else. This isn't a third world country and we shouldn't be treated as such merely because we live in the countryside and not the city.

Correct your spelling - it matters for credibility - i before e except after c - receivers

Right from the get go I was told that my promised speeds of 1.5 mpbs dl and 0.5mbps ul were just an approximation and that the 0.2 to 0.5 mbps dl I was getting was certainly acceptable...not to me they aren't. Not for 46.95 +Tax a month. If I am downloading updates and the internet goes down, then it starts all over again...so a 100 mb update may cost me 1 gb or more by the time it is here. after restarting from beginning 10 or more times. so now they will get as much as another $20 + Tax for a system that is frustrating, No Netflix, no on demand and no streaming going on here.

They're digging their own grave. Now NCS is coming out with a new internet program that's much faster for about the same price. This new network is already available in some parts of Kings County. Hopefully it expands to the rest of rural NS. Here's the link to check out and see if you're within the coverage zone http://www.novascotiahighspeedinternet.com/

All 3 parties are to blame for letting this happen. The Conservatives for chosing Eastlink with a technology that doesn't work well around trees in a province that is mostly trees. The NDP for not doing something in 2010 when Eastlink still didn't fullfill their contract. And now the liberals for not doing anything about this cap. This company took 38 million from the provincial and federal government and are in breach of contract with over 200 homes still with no service .

I think we pay enough for eastlink, half of the time you can't get onto it anyway, it freezes up. or it says page cannot be found. Why should we pay for something we can't use.

Very unfair. The service is very poor as it is and then put a cap on. Please!
