Scrap proposed on Street parking charges at Barry Island.

Think of people's wellbeing & the livelihood of the local businesses rather than making money!

Parking charges will be detrimental to all businesses. Will also deter people from using beach and surrounding areas.

As locals, we are regular, but casual visitors to the Island for a spot of exercise and perhaps a cup of coffee. With the proposed parking charges that cup of coffee will become prohibitively expensive, and we will severely curtail our visits, or scrap them altogether. Apart from killing Island traders' off-season business stone dead, these charges, it will adversely affect the health of elderly people, who will be increasingly confined to their own homes.

Support your residents and local businesses. Stop thinking of more ways to get money from the residents who pay enough council tax.

I have ptsd and very bad mental health I swim at Barry island 4-6 times a week year round as this really helps me. I am on a very low income so this parking charge would make this inaccessible for me! Please don’t do this!!

I don’t agree these charges should be implemented. We, the people of Barry should be able to visit our beaches free of charge. I wouldn’t visit if these parking charges are implemented. I am also a daily dog walker and wouldn’t afford to visit due to daily charges. You would be taking away natural medicine from the public, this would be a start of mental health decline. A lot of people visit places of nature to help their mental health. These charges would also affect traders and workers on Barry Island.

absolutely disgusting the way the council treat the people of the community with such little thought where will people go park then for free, up in the residential streets where the parking is overflowing already!!!

Will affect businesses. They already have had a hit from the labour government ! They do not need this as well. Certainly does not help pensioners who are unable to claim pension credits who are also struggling, who's highlight may be a stroke along the prom for some fresh air.

Charges will absolutely destroy the town.

I visit Barry regularly with my son. The new fees are not acceptable.
