What another crazy idea

Can the council not see what they will do to independent business and tourism!!

Oh my goodness. What a huge money making scheme for VOG Council. I certainly will not be going over to the Island if this goes ahead.

The change of parking on the front to mainly disabled has caused enough of an issue, it would have been better if there were reserved during certain times, we used to go for a walk every morning but can now rarely find parking.

This is a RIDICULOUS idea. We should be encouraging visitors, not putting them off.

I use the knap and Barry island often for exercise and mental health purposes. Charging people who have very little to enjoy in life is going to strip away even more enjoyment.

Locals already pay enough council tax .

These parking charges will damage the businesses, they need support and visitors

This is ridiculous from the council. I regularly park on street for an hour for a quick walk or coffee. I m not going to pay for on street parking.

Disgusting folk have to fork out money just cos the bog council are incompetent. How about the elderly, the vulnerable and business owners gonna suffer cos the council decide to charge ppl more. Council tax will go up so these so called councillors get a bumper pay rise at the residents expense. Time for them to go

I am against the parking charges at Barry beauty spots. Surely this will dissuade visitors from using these areas & have the knock on effect of causing businesses in the areas to lose revenue, maybe even causing them to close, leading to more unemployment. Local residents at least should be exempt. I, myself, am disabled & unable to walk great distances. I need a car to be able to enjoy the local beauty spots. Parking charges would make it hard for me to justify visiting. Why should residents not be able to benefit from our beaches & country park without charge? Also, local public transport is totally inadequate to reach these places. Please rethink these plans

Why deter people from visiting what is one of Wales' most popular beaches, when they bring in much needed revenue to local businesses.

There’s already two paid cast park in Barry their always full every time I visit so why make people pay for more parking not as if your Loki g out on money

I do not agree with the proposals contained in the Vale's report to introduce charges for on street parking at Barry Island and Penarth Esplanade / Cliff top car park.

Absolutely shambles to be trying to change this to have people pay more. The council will soon find that the area will lose a massive amount of visitors both local and from a far.

Out pricing locals who keep it busy all year
