Unbelievable that there appears to be no consultation with local businesses or residents. Where are the impact assessments? The previous reports referenced in the paper predate COVID when the economy was in a much stronger position. Businesses and residents have since suffered over 4 years of the cost of living crisis. Very short and narrow sighted proposals.

These insane proposals will be the end of Barry . I use the multi storey car park when I go to the bank and then a wander around the shops . The knap car park I use when I bring my grandson to the skatepark, when he’s had enough after about 2-3 hours we go for a hot chocolate or ice cream , it will be to expensive to do on a regular basis. Barry council seem to be made up of small and short minded people who definitely do not have the best interests of the community

The free two hour parking enables us to go to the island for ice cream / into the arcades in the evenings / after school which will not be justifiable if having to pay to park. This will cause loss of earnings to the local businesses so I oppose this.

The car parks are quite expensive …. Very unfair to pay for the streets

Absolutely ridiculous. Give people the opportunity to park for free. This will kill the businesses in the quieter days. Greedy council again,They can’t stop themselves .

You have taken the knap, Taken Butlins what next? The piss that's what! The business of the island strugle through the winter months as it is, now you want locals to pay a yearly parking permit to go there! Waste money on 20 mph signs, wasted money paint the railings on the island road twice! As you had them painted then pulled them down and thrown on the flor for work to the water brake! Then had them all repainted again. Constant road works around the lights on millennium way causing loss to business on and off the island the list goes on and on.

Totally unbelievable what this council is doing TO our town, just destroying it, they are employed to act on our best interests, well I’ve lost faith along time ago. All they are care about is money, we pay enough in council tax & I question myself for what??? Barry is neglected, build buildings & build that’s all they want to do, not building more schools or doctors,dentist can’t even get a doctors appointment. Pot holes galore, grass verges, my mother is 96 and what she see’s upsets her big time. Big re shuffle is needed in this council.
