Scrap proposed on Street parking charges at Barry Island.

£89k would be a good amount to save. Plus all the damage to trade these charges would cause.

Residents should be free. Charge tourists

I think if they enforced the 2 hour waiting, people would move on and use the car park, also there is a big space on the dock near the car park, it has been used as a overflow

Disgusting that we have to pay to park to use our own amenities. We haven’t got much to do in Barry as it is and the parking over the island is already horrendous. This will put a stop to a lot of people visiting.

NO STREET CHARGES

When more than one family member visits my house, only one is able to use my visitor permit, the others have to park in a 2 hour limit space across the road. That impacts us already, please don’t start charging friends and family of the residents of Barry Island to visit us

There are enough contributions. Keep it free please

Stop making it hard for families that are already struggling. We should be entitled to go to the beach for free.

I live locally in Barry and these proposed charges will stop me being able to visit the island frequently around 4 times a week where I take my dog for a walk and buy a coffee some days. I will not be able to pop into the pet shop on the island or park up to take my dog to be groomed there without being charged for parking. Us locals are the ones who keep the businesses going through the winter months. Our council tax is already extortionate with services cut! Leave the on street parking free on the island. It’s only up to 2 hours! The revenue you make from the charged car parks for the thousands and thousands of visitors each year is ample. This change will kill businesses on the island. Shame on you vale of Glamorgan council!

Please consider local residents. You also need to encourage visitors not keep them away.

Appalling decision, not thinking of local business owners at all. And what happens in the winter, its already quiet, it’ll be a ghost town introducing parking charges!
