All rescue animals deserve love, care and attention. No human being has to right to inflict neglect and cruelty on an animal. It's about time the human race woke up to that fact and started behaving in a much better way towards animals!

What is so sad is that many 'sanctuaries' and 'rescue' homes START out by trying to help animals then become overwhelmed with the never ending amount of animals that need rescuing. This problem then turns into too many horrible and filthy 'sanctuaries' - holding pens and prisons for the animals that get taken in. Let's as individuals STOP buying animals, STOP buying animals bred to be sold as 'pets'. START helping by taking in an animal already born and abandoned.....and neuter it. NEVER buy an animal....you just become part of a horrible trade where living creatures are commodities to be bought and sold.

Shelters should be just that - asylum for rescue animals, further cruelty and neglect must not be allowed to happen.

It's been needed for a long time. Tighter control on the way these so called rescue centres are run.

100% behind this but for years these animals get ignored +the law with maximum 6 months should be sorted out

these shelters are no better than the homes these animals came from we need them to be properly regulated and licence so checks are mandatory as to the animal care is the top priority and staff have to be certified in animal care.

I run an animal sanctuary and am happy to do the extra paperwork licensing would entail if it means shutting down badly and cruelly run places.
