Shelters have to be monitored as calling it a sanctuary does not always mean safety and care - it can be a moneymaking business too.

I hope this goes for all rescues.. including foster based ones. They should all be regulated

Something needs to be done and not just in Scotland. There are some incredible shelters out there doing an amazing job. Unfortunately there are others who don't give a damn and have pound signs in their eyes. If this was a children's home there would be uproar. Why as a race are we so arrogant to think human lives are worth more than the lives of animals. This government needs a rocket up its arse!

For years l have been heared to say that laws need to change as any one can (and unfortunately do ) "sett up "a rescue and con the misguided public into giving up their animals ,actively campaign for animals and to seek out funding etc all under the name of "welfare". I have met some of these individuals who in the guise of doing good Have and are actually doing nothing but promoting themselves and gaining an income from it .In a lot of cases these unfortunately animals would be better off back with previous owners or dare l say it ,(yes l will ) be better off put to rest rather than a life of continued neglect ,prison kennels and no quality of life .I see a great need to monitor and licence these "establishments "but only by recognised, experienced Dog people and ,environmental officers .

I am singing because those animals deserve some sort of justice. These cruel people deserve to pay for the pain starvation and neglect they forced these poor animals to endure.
