I do not live in Hawley, but have met Mr. Steer many times. He has helped tremendously with my grand daughter and the emotional issues that has entailed. He is soft spoken, friendly and extremely dedicated to his job, co-workers and the town of Hawley. He would make an EXCELLENT police chief. That the city hired as interne and than not consider him capable of doing the job permanently was a real surprise and shock to a lot of people. Scott Steer should be Chief.

I an not a resident of Hawley but I have had to pleasure of meeting Mr. Steer on numerous occasions. Mr. Steer is an honest and fair individual who takes pride in his town and in the people who lived there. It would be an absolute tragedy if Mr. Steer were to be stepped over.

Scott Stear, Is not only a good Choice for the City of Hawley but a GREAT choice for the community! This man knows not Only the town and the people in it, but he knows his job and he does it well! Hawley is known to be a Family Community So why wouldn't you consider a Member of this Family to do the job he has spent countless hours already doing? Scott deserves this more than anyone! It's a sad day when people have to
go outside of the Community to take care of someone else instead of taking care of their own!!!

Scott has been interim chief twice in his career with Hawley Police Department. To me it's an embarrassment and slap in his face to look him in the eye and basically tell him that although you're good enough for right now you're not home enough for long term.
He's one of the most compassionate and caring officers I've met and has the Hawley community's interest at heart. Why not give him the respect he's given to all of us all along?
I was very disappointed to learn that the officials of Hawley were looking at someone who doesn't know the community and someone who's so far out of the lines for the city of Hawley. We have someone right here dedicated and putting his life and neck out there for all of us daily. He should be shown that same respect he shows all of us.
