While Orange County Deputies (and most police officers that work the streets) are drastically underpaid, not giving widows and surviving children full pay benefits for an officer killed in the line of duty is a crime.

This shouldn't even need a vote. This should've been done along time ago. And when it does pass it should include those from 20 years ago.

This is long over due. Bridget had to quit her job to become a stay at home mom not to mention the health benefits and struggles they face not having a father but to struggle to pay daily bills should never happen. Keep up the fight Bridget!!!!

I think this should pass for any officer that puts his life at risk in the line of duty. In the world we live in today it is more dangerous every day.

I too am a 1st responder and believe in this bill. My family should be entitled to whatever benefit I was entitled to before my death. I put my life on the line every day in at work as do so many of us. It's not too much to ask that our family is taken care of should we die in the line of duty.

Fallen Heroes MUST never been forgotten and their spouses and children should NEVER be forgotten either - give Scott's family the maximum allowed and STOP making his family wait - he didn't hesitate so why should the Florida politicians !!!
