The most deserving City of Carson resident and employee to have a park renamed after. Scott Park has always been remembered as James Foisia’s park. He made a lasting impression with children, youth, and parents. It would be a wonderful way to celebrate Carson’s 50th anniversary as a city.

A brilliant man, who cared for the youth and needs of the community. He was the "Go To" Center Director by his co-workers always ready to assist and help with other parks. He was an asset to the City!

James as park director provided a safe and nurturing environment for many of the neighborhood kids that practically lived at the park. The parents trusted James and knew he would look after their kids. James and his staff made sure that the park was a safe environment for everyone. James had a very positive influence on the youth. They knew that he would help and support them. The youth trusted and respected James. During the 70s, 80s, and 90s whenever you spoke of Scott Park, everyone always said “James Foisia”. To rename the park after James Foisia would be a wonderful tribute to a man who loved Carson and helped to make it a diverse, respected and safe city for it’s families!

I retired from the City Of Carson. I not only knew James Foisia when I worked in Parks and Recreation when he was Center Supervisor in Parks and Recreation, but worked for his brother Harry Foisia as a Summer Youth Worker. My good friend, Harry's wife, Kea Foisia, retired now, too, was very active in our AFSCME Union. James and his family worked hard for the City of Carson, reaching out to many youth there. They touched the hearts and lives of at risk youth who came to the park, giving them a positive outlook on life, a way to channel their energy to sports, changing their lives in a positive way, helping them to become productive members of society. James Foisia deserves the honor, post humously, to have Scott Park named after him.
