James is a close relative. Along with other cousins we would help set up and wherever else James needed things to be done. I always knew how important it was for James to have activities for the kids daily. James knew all the kids by name and they loved him, Renaming Scott Park to James Foisia Park is an honor he deserves. I love him and his memory lives on through all of us who spent many summers at the Park.

Scott Park was a county park named for Winfield Scott (June 13, 1786 – May 29, 1866) who was a United States Army general and the unsuccessful presidential candidate of the Whig Party in 1852. Scott Park was taken over by the City of Carson over 45 years ago from the county. I see no reason why Scott Park can't be renamed to James Foisia Park in honor of a man grew up in Carson, went to Carson High School & who served his community for many years!!!

Since 1974, I believe when anyone thinks of Scott Park, James Foisia comes to mind. They are synonymous & it is only fitting that the park bears his name.

If ever a park in Carson should be named for a former employee James is one. For all that he did for the youth of Carson for 25 plus years.

I was born in raised in that park n without a doubt james was a great park director always looked out for the youth but that park even the name it has now SCOTT PARK has alot of meaning and memories to awhole lot of people who grew up there whether good or bad. I believe the name should stay SCOTT PARK and honor him another way because now every great employee that works for parks now are going to want to change the name of a park to there name. No disrespect to james major love and respects to that guy.
