Scott Park was a county park named for Winfield Scott (June 13, 1786 – May 29, 1866) who was a United States Army general and the unsuccessful presidential candidate of the Whig Party in 1852. Scott Park was taken over by the City of Carson over 45 years ago from the county. I see no reason why Scott Park can't be renamed to James Foisia Park in honor of a man grew up in Carson, went to Carson High School & who served his community for many years!!!

James Foisia was a mentor to a lot of us. He helped us with summer jobs, supplied us with our needs for sports. He also had free lunch program for kids in need and the kids who stayed and participated in programs through out the day. Thank You James Foisia.
