seriously why are we getting points taken away for being humble??? this grading system is literally designed to make us fail.

The self assessment part is the absolute worst. Getting docked points just because the TA has a different opinion than me is so unfair.

I totally agree with this! I spent so much time on the assignment only to receive an F because I followed the example. It is very frustrating!

I've done all the work I've needed to do in this class, with proficiency, and I have an extremely low grade. I completely agree with this.

Wow! Can't believe this is exactly what I think of this course so far. I work really hard for this class and yet, got only 70% in this course so far. And never get out of box points. Even though they are small portion, they all add up! And to me it seems that we can NEVER get full score on our project assignment. There will always be some reason that TAs can mark you down and these requirement are only stated in a very general way. For example " Overall flow and navigation are complete. Pages are fleshed out and interactive." This is for assignment 6 Interaction flow, and we got 3 points out of 4. I think TA should "round up" the points to encourage students, not "no, your project in this phase is not perfect, and we can still mark you down for any reason that we come up with". I am so frustrated in this course especially in terms of grading. I wonder if this is TAs' difference. Some TAs tends to be harsh and some tends to be easy. I have no idea of how would a student get above 90% with my TA. In addition, This link: http://www.gradesource.com/reports/509/25149/cs104864.html, our gradesource link for cse170 has not updated since Assignment 5 where our grade for Assignment 6 is already out. I have no idea how well or bad I did comparing to the rest of the class. Also, I think we should be able to rate each team member’s performance in team project and these points are much better use than those out-of-box points. People, please do make this happen. We are in UCSD, not some crappy colleges, we care quality and we deserve it. Don’t just pass on without any action, please show your support. I saw this, and I did something to it. At this point, it’s not all about grading we care, it’s the system that we rely on and care so much, yet somewhat disappointing so far.

I definitely feel like I've put in a lot of effort into this course and my grade is reflective otherwise due to the grading rubric. I spend much of my hours with my teammates working on the assignments each week and never seem to get the full credit or even the "out of the box" points, which are essentially opinion-based.
