These are WAY too dangerous because no one wears protective gear & never will. There will be many suits against the city for all the injuries so all the money paid to the city will be awash!!!

they are littering our sidewalks! riders are injuring themselves and others, and basically just have no regard for anyone else.

Intelligent, lawful, and most importantly, enforceable laws required.

These are toys and should be banned immediately. The companies, riders, stagers and the city all breaking the law and people being put in constant fear and danger.

these are littering our street curbs, sidewalks, driveways, parks, corners, bike path. Enough is enough.

LJCPA just voted to modify the city's proposal by making it more restrictive to operate them. In doing so, they unwittingly approved the presence of them throughout the city. Scooter rentals should be be banned like any other sidewalk business / nuisance. / danger.

They should never have been allowed in the village in the first place. Take a look at other countries and the problems scooters create before it gets any worst here.

Dangerous. No way to enforce regulations. Not road worthy with cars.

I wholeheartedly agree with and support a ban on electric scooter. There has been zero policing of the regs put into effect on July 1. This is a joke. How is it that we have allowed our public areas to be hijacked by these private companies for their sole financial gain and benefit. Enough is long over due to be enough!

I am sure there is a place for these scooters, but locally, beach areas- these are a nuisance in every sense of their existence, dangerous to the people riding them, people who are in their way, the scooters themselves littering the landscape, hogging more walking space, and worst yet, people tripping over them, a liability to all. What happened to bikes? The people I see on these scooters should be on bikes getting some exercise.

Scooters are causing tremendous problems everywhere in San Diego and especially in South Mission Beach where I live. They are being driven recklessly the wrong way in alleys; they are left in our driveway for us to move before we pack our cars and they are thrown on our beaches causing pollution! They are toys nothing short of it! Tourists are using them to double ride and joy ride. Rarely are they used to get cars off the street. Please please ban them!

The situation is out of control. The numbers of scooters and bikes are multiplying weekly and are scarring the landscape everywhere. It’s shocking how chaotic and dangerous this matter has become. I see no solution through regulation as riders will never comply with rules. Eliminating the clutter is my vote.

Safety needs to be considered here. Climate change won’t be solved in this way.
