School trousers over education

First of all, I am a boy so this is a complete standalone opinion and am not under influence by any personal preferences. If somebody is comfortable in tight trousers, they have the right to wear them. What if they are insecure about their weight? What if they can't find a size that fits them? I see the main purpose of the no tight trousers rule is for none other than preventing peeping eyes from being distracted. As a boy, my recommendation is to instead of banning tight trousers, punish any sick perverted persons. Are you trying to say that wearing tight trousers is asking to get stared at down below? Because if so, you are actually supporting a rape cause, as this is no different from a "she wore that, she had it coming" situation. Also, I do not like to state things without facts so I would like to say IF the rumours of staff "observing pupils for correct trousers" is true, that is just as bad as letting them wear it.... You ban tight trousers to stop people staring... yet you stare at girls possibly 4x younger than you below the waist to observe your opinion of decency in uniform. As for makeup, girls should be allowed to express themselves as much as they want, however if makeup is played with in lessons I would like to state it is in that position totally acceptable to confiscate it, as THAT is distracting learning. Pre makeup before school and at breaktime is none other than having a skin colour or eye colour though, its part of that persons identity and how they choose to express themselves. School is funded by the council as a place of education, to learn and be put in the correct direction for life, ready for college and a working life. Is stopping someone expressing themself a good example of how to be in life? It is incredibly small minded and will probably ensure them a council flat if they're lucky. Lessons last for 1 hour, if this 1 hour is spent working and not playing with makeup, they are doing as they should and this is fine. An

I have no shape to my body and this new uniform is making me very self conscious, body shy and anxious about what people think of me! This is causing more bad than good. They say that the old uniform distracted people as showed off too much so they think that hiding everything will solve that! WRONG!! The thing that is distracting us now is that we're worrying if we look fat ! On me these new clothes look like a bin bag thrown on a skeleton! Also like veryone else has said, what about the "I am me" campaign and how they're always promoting individuality but then being hypocrites and stripping that away from us! I think it's astonishing how they think it's acceptable to stand their infront if the school judging what everyone is wearing making them feel uncomfortable ! For god sakes let them wear what they want to wear and feel comfortable in as they will probably end up not being as distracted! I am pretty sure as well that they said that skinny trousers were alright at the end of last year as long as they don't look sprayed on or are jeans so with that impression my parents bought me a pair and I got told they were not appropriate, therefore my parents wasting a good £20 which could have been spent elsewhere!

This is so true, try don't do anything about the boys because their uniform is "perfect" it doesn't effect out education on every bit but they only care about what we look so like , it's gunna effect the education side of it if they keep doing this , coz a lot of people will ever other men eother move or get kicked out for the wrong uniform!

Heard many more complaints from students about being told off for looking 'under expectation' in uniform. Should be more lenient on uniform overall

what i don't understand is how they expect us to have outstanding grades, amazing attendance, 'perfect uniform' AND still enjoy school, be perfect students and complete piles of homework. i personally think it's outrageous how they're excluding us from both our free time, self confidence AND our 'individuality' that they supposedly care so much about all because our trousers show off our calves and the fabric touches our ankles. maybe they should focus on the more important things like our education, self confidence and BULLYING. if they're going to stand by the gates everyday scrutinising us for our clothing as older students walk past with blue hair and clothes that barely cover their belly buttons let alone their ass cheeks then we might as well be robots

And if it's a modesty thing then it's not girls that should have to put up with having to wear longer skirts to make no prying eyes are on them it's stupid

I dont even go to the school but i go westfield. The uniform policy for gryphon sounds wayy out. Uniform doesnt impact the education. Telling studesnts off during lesson about uniform does effect the education. Because u should be learning instead.

The saying is I am me but they strip all of our identity away from us so it is hardly I am me

Its actually pathetic,we have the i am me campaign,and we aren't aloud to wear makeup? im sorry but seriously some girls dont feel confident about themselves without makeup and makes them feel bad about the way they look,another one,seriously,long skirts,baggy trousers?the old uniform was fine,this ones even worse!!! the uniform is atrocious!?

We should be able to wear whatever we like as wearing a " short" skirt is not effecting our education what is effecting is these new changes that are so unnecessary
