School dress code

This dress code is BS that’s all I gotta say.

Doubt it will do much but worth a shot

We good with what we had before

Dress code is sexist and irrational. They only dress code thicc girls and it's not fair. It's irrelevant to real problems like kids being harrassed. What kids wear doesn't matter. Every reason for a dress code is sexist and actually stupid.

Freedom of speech

when it comes to this school i can’t say i’m the best student getting a’s, b’s, and c’s. at the end of the day, i identify more with arts and express myself through clothing and makeup. i already disagree with dress codes but this is insulting and beyond unrealistic. the reason kids don’t do well at this school is not because of distractions, but because at this school you are a number not an individual. my cousin goes to a charter school where she has no issue getting help with classes, but when i stayed after for the free tutoring st this school it took an hour for someone to be able to help me, she helped me with one problem and then moved on. it’s was to the point to were i need to pay a private tutor $40 an hour for private tutoring. i’m lucky enough to say i’m BLESSED enough to be able to afford it twice a week for two hour sessions; others are not. fix the system first, worry about our clothes last.

students should be able to express themseleves. what they wear is part of that.

I am a Grandmother of a high school student. I feel that this new rule, coming out just a month before the new school year, is capricious and unreasonable. This idea should have been put before parents for their input months ago. This is putting an undo burden on parents and caregivers to have to replace a child's school wardrobe, in many cases. It is particularly problematic for parents of boys whose wardrobe is mostly made up of graphic t-shirts. You should rethink this idea.

Do it

It is unreasonable and pointless to not allow students to have logos or graphics on their T-shirt’s. I have never had an experience where someone’s shirt has disracted me from learning what was expected of me. Many students enjoy wearing exciting shirts and in my own experience what I wear drastically impacts how I feel and preform I like to look nice to feel nice. I’d also like to add that T-shirt’s are some of the cheapest items you can buy and are a large part of the student bodies wardrobe so in disallowing graphic shirts or shirts with words you are causing people to have to go out and buy new shirts that fit you dress code. I would also like to add that I have see absolutely no research or data to back up the preposterous new rule .
