Why would we remove one of the most important forms of fine art here. If anything this should be bumped up to a major in savannah. I feel like it would be a much better location than a city like Atlanta. As others said before, remove equestrian before removing a legitimate art form.

I'm not personally a sculpture artist nor am I interested in creating in that medium, but if SCAD can continue to justify offering an equestrian studies major at an art school, then there is absolutely no rationale for terminating or even downsizing the scultural department.

The Sculpture minor at SCAD is a great addition to majors like Industrial Design and Furniture Design, or any other major that works in 3D. Not only this, but the 3D Design class as part of foundations studies was very beneficial to these majors. I cannot imagine this crucial stepping stone being removed from the program.
I tried to say this when I signed the petition, but it got sent too early. Oops!

As a graduate of the building arts department I believe that is is extremely unfortunate that students will no longer have the ability to freely explore 3D space in this medium

The closing of the sculpture department is the equivalent of SCAD turning its back on hundreds of students trying to express themselves.

Sculpture is one of the lasts crafting arts we have here. You are able to mold your future with your hands and work out a masterpiece to your liking. Other majors have a different discipline and aren't able to learn the techniques required to do so. It would be a shame to let go of the Sculpture Department just to save money, SCAD is getting all the money they can get from the students. So I say, let there be Sculpture, without it SCAD really would lose the A.

There are students here who came especially for a minor in this field and you're taking it away? Everyone knows SCAD has enough money to keep it. I'm not sculpture student but I don't want to see this go down in flames.

It is incredibly important to have sculpture and fine arts as part of the curriculum at SCAD. If we have an equestrian major then we should not be getting rid of fine arts buildings. I'm not against the equestrian program but it makes the school seem like a joke when we are removing fine arts buildings and pouring money into non-art facilities.

Keep the program it's amazing and the work is quality
