As one of Scad's longest running students, if not thee longest running student 1996 rising star, 1997-2004. I can't say I am surprised. I drifted aimlessly between illustration and painting, but through a computer gliche several of my housemates and I slipped into intermediate sculpture without the prerequisites. We all fell in love with sculpture and began taking many classes only to find out it was not a major. We were the beginnings of trying to get it a major through petitioning, but they shot it down. I think this was the around 2000. By the time it had becomea major I was stuck in illistration and unhappy because I was mocked by professors for being "Too Fine Artsy", kinda weird for an art school I thought. Having slipped through the cracks and never having a real advisor for those eight years I decided to become an artist. Since then I have published several books, have shown my work at over a hundred venues, collaborated on a beer baring my name, and am currently on a US art tour which regretfully cannot be creditted to SCAD as I am not alumni because sculpture was not a major. Who knows how many other artists that might lose again if they take away one of the major elements of Fine Art. SCAD has long since lost its integrity and good graces with me when I speak of them, but at least they should try and maintain some sense of ethical ground if they wish to call themselves an art school... KEEP SCULPTURE AS A MAJOR, PLEASE?!

SCAD BFA grad with Minor in Sculpture. Keep the sculpture program it is one of the most creative departments at the school.

As a SCAD alumni who minored in ceramics and knows the importance of the 3D studies, this is ridiculous. I learned more from my fundamental sculpture courses than in any other (color/2D/etc). Watching my fellow students explore and create outside of the realm of medium put to paper was inspiring and one of the major reasons I pursued ceramics. Please don't shut down this creative avenue!

This was my favorite building on campus! This place created a productive, inspiring space for students, especially in the production of sculptured works of art. Keep Boundary.

Keep Boundary Hall, it's an important part of campus to many students. Also, keep the sculpture major, many students have dedicated countless hours of their time to this, something that they love, it would be wrong to take it away.

This building is incredibly convenient for freshman's 3D Design classes because then there aren't a whole bunch of huge 3D Projects being carried on the red route every day so that kids can work on them in class. It's also convenient that freshman can leave their projects in the building instead of constantly taking them back to their rooms. Plus, they can go work on their projects at Boundary outside of class time or on weekends without it being a huge struggle to get to the building. I don't even want to know where SCAD plans to hold all those 3D Design foundation classes next year but let me tell you it's couldn't get much more convenient than a building that's right down the street from a majority of the students who are taking the class.

I fail to understand why one of the most comprehensive art schools around should eliminate one of the most essential arts. I refuse to degrade any other major or department, but I do think the funds should be found to continue to support the program. Perhaps SCAD should look into cutting some of its overhead costs.

It's very unfortunate for the sculpture minor to come to an end at the Savannah campus..sculpture is one of the oldest forms of art and it is sad that this will not be offered any longer..

This is the main campus, we should have a sculpture MAJOR here, let alone be worrying about the loss of the minor. It's ridiculous that with all the space (studio and gallery) as well as historic vistas that sculpture isn't a part of the Savannah campus.

An arts school without sculpture is like the Venus de Milo without arms. Very elegant, in spite of it, but incomplete.
