SBVC students address problems with the Financial Aid office

Try calling the financial aid compliance dept. phone# 202-377-3173 . Someone at the Fafsa office gave this number to me and said we can ask the financial aid compliance team to find out when we can get our awards or ask for an investigation. Apparently because the financial aid center at valley has not been communicating with us, we have every right to call this number.

I am not sure where you are getting your info , but all I have as of right now is my award letter. I received it earlier in the week, after waiting 4 weeks for it to show up on my web advisor. Since they award on Fridays I was hoping to get my money today, but it did not happen. I do not appreciate your message trying to suspect me of lying.I have nothing to hide. This petition is not about getting anyone in trouble or meant to stir unnecessary drama. It's about students and SBVC FA staff coming together to try and solve these problems we have been having for a long time! So please guys let's be civil with one another and not stoop and call each other names or accuse people of lying.

it would be great of they could get everything processed. we get our information turned in in a timely manner so we can receive our aid in a timely manner in order to buy books, supplies, etc and now there's a problem. they have had all summer to figure out all these problems. very sad and annoying that we do our part and they can't do theirs.

i submitted everything in march, it shouldn't be taking this long. We need new staff. I was told I would get my first payment in august, then they told me mid september, now they're saying not until november? No, something needs to be done.

So frustrates at this point that I haven't even received my award letter yet, I apply early but for WHAT??

I wish they would let me know if they'll finish processing late applications BEFORE the semester ends. If not, I need to drop my classes because there is NO WAY I can afford the textbooks. Which really sucks...and its frustrating that they don't answer the phone, even though there is a receptionist that works there(who is dismissive to the fact that most of the people she is dealing with wait in line for HOURS!) So frustrating

Find it ridiculous that it's the third week of the semester and students have not received their financial aid, making it hard to be successful. And even more that there is NO communication from FA office.

I wish they would at least have the courtesy to give us some kind of update. This is crazy guys!

Financial got a new Head in there and there was a celebration welcoming them in, welcome hahahahahaha WHAT DID YOU CHANGE!!!

Students need answers so we can understand what is going on and if this happens every year shouldnt financial aid hire more staff or start to process earlier students are dropping classes because they dont have the money for expensive books but its still our fault for dropping no matter the circumstances and maybe if they spoke up to what is actually going on there wouldnt be such a big line for financial aid

This is freaking rediculious . Something needs to be done . They messed up on my paper work . Why should I be punished. My friend who turned in a signature late but had everything else turned in by May . They are now telling her shell get her check around Christmas . That's a crappy joke.

I understand all of your frustrations guys! I am tired of the financial aid office treating students poorly! We deserve to know what's going on in that and office and why they are withholding our award letters and money. Why are they so behind? Why are they so understaffed? Hopefully by acquiring 1000 signatures we can get some answers and change this nonsense! Help and spread the word to any other students who may want to sign this petition!

There hasn't been one person working in the financial aid office who has given me a straight answer on what is going on and why it is taking so long for everything to update, or if it;s even going to update.

I have been to the FA office twice and they keep giving me the run around.. I would just like an update on everything..
