Updates

March 8, 2025

The emails I sent to the administration remain unanswered but the lack of communication does not mean we are stopping. I am exhausted from the constant back and forth with people who do not seem to care about the impact this has on the team. We are going to keep pushing until someone finally listens.

I have been a high school athletic Director. I have coached football and wrestling at Don Bosco at its finest years and I have also coached football on the recreation level with Rob Bernier. You won't find a more dedicated man along with a positive role model for student athletes.

best coaching staff a player can have, there's a reason the number have gone up every season under coach. He spent more time around all the players than any coach I ever had. Bernier helped me reach my collegiate athletic goal and believed in me every step of the way. The staff created a collaboration with the junior football to encourage players to stay in saddle brook for athletics. Most coaches would never do that and that's why the players appreciate him. Just look at the creation of the petition and the support from all of the players and families.

Coach Bernier has put in more time, effort, and hard work than anyone. I’ve also been told by many that he himself has donated a significant amount of not only his time but his very own money. He funded all the equipment in the weight room facility for example. It’s all brand new equipment - go check it out. But It’s never about the money, although I’m not sure everyone really knows about how much Coach Bernier cares about this program and how much our boys love him so much. Please keep Coach !!

it's nice to see a group of young men coming together to fight for a cause that they believe in. They are the ones playing the game not anyone on the outside. The grass isn't always greener on the other side.

I have seen the change in my nephew since he’s been under the guidance and leadership of this phenomenal coach. It be a disservice to these students. Please keep this coach for the sake of the students and parents

Whoever doesn’t “like” this man… probably doesn’t truly know him. Coach Bernier is one of the kindest people we’ve ever come across. If Coach wants to stay in Saddle Brook for these boys… then we support him.

I am deeply disappointed by the situation unfolding in Saddle Brook regarding Coach Rob Bernier. Having been around many coaches in my career, I can confidently say that Rob is one of the best I’ve ever seen. He cares about the kids, the community, and the program in a way that is rare in today’s coaching world. With the challenges schools face in finding and keeping quality coaches, allowing someone of Rob’s caliber to walk away would be nothing short of a disaster. It’s frustrating and embarrassing that a few individuals in town believe their opinions outweigh those of the administration, the athletes, and the majority of the community. The people have spoken—they want Coach Bernier to stay. So why is this still being debated? Why are we allowing a couple of voices to hold so much power over something that affects so many? Saddle Brook should be doing everything in its power to retain an amazing coach, not pushing him away. If this decision goes the wrong way, it will set a terrible precedent and hurt the very people this is supposed to be about—the kids.
