He built our lacrosse program into the success that it is through dedication and timeless hours spent not only with the varsity team but also the youth teams. He is dedicated to our athletes and students and a valued member of our Sayville Community

Christian Doller has devoted numerous hours of volunteer work to our Sayville community, in addition to his work as an educator and coach. He cares deeply about his students, athletes and this community. In a time when the district needs to earn the trust and support of the community, decisions need to be made based on what is best for the Sayville Community and our students. Restoring Christian to his position of head lacrosse coach is the right and just course of action. His loss will be a loss for our students and a loss for our community.

there should be a transparent, fair process when dismissing or hiring a coach (or teacher). This is a matter of basic fairness.

BOE, listen to the community you represent. Coach Dolller deserves to remain as Head Coach. Get beyond your personal differences and do what is right by the student athlete. That is all Coach has ever had in mind.

As good as he is as a coach. He's an even better person. If my son played and he to be coached by one person it would be Christian.....there isn't a close second.

How can a district get rid of a coach/teacher in district with this track record and and no concrete reasons to not re-instate him? If he isn't re-instated, what lacrosse coach would even want this job? If they can get rid of him without incident, nobody qualified would invest the time in a coaching position with this much instability. Ultimately, this will affect our kids for years to come. Coach Doller goes above and beyond his paid coaching responsibilities. He is not afraid to stick his neck out to do the right thing for the safety and benefit of his players. This is a trait that should be admired and respected. During the 6 year span my boys have played for Coach Doller, his teams have earned their way to 2 Long Island Championship games, 3 Suffolk County Championship games and made the playoffs all 6 seasons. Why shouldn't he remain head coach of Sayville Lacrosse?

Coach made every practice and game day a great one. He knows how to let ALL of his players have fun but at the same time get the most out of them on the field. It would be a shame if future lacrosse players of sayville had to play for another coach, after all this man has built.

I was a part of the 2009 Long Island Championship team, the schools first ever. That itself shows how far Coach Dollar has brought the program. Building any program in Sayville is a difficult task. With so many childish politics involved, with one negative comment from a parent, it turns into a political apocalypse. Coach Dollar always put that aside and focused on the team's overall goals. Varsity level lacrosse is not a youth program. Players are contending for a championship and to be recognized by collegiate level coaches/scouts to further pursue their lacrosse career. Just because wining parents cannot understand that the players who work the hardest and have the best talent are the ones who see the most playing time, doesn't mean the coach/program should suffer. Coach Dollar always played the best of the best players, and that's how this elite level of lacrosse should be coached. His life stories, experiences and his aggressive motivation made me into the coach/trainer I am today. I coach 3 teams and train dozens of players, and I use tactics and techniques I learned from Dollar to do so. He brings the reality of how the game should be played/coached without sugar coating it just to please parents. Everything he does is in the players best interest, win or lose. I would be honored to coach beside him, and will do everything in my power to keep him as the Varsity Head Coach.

The only direction this program has gone has been up. He has done a great job and will continue to do so. He has been around since I was little and has always supported everyone in the lacrosse program from youth to varsity. It would be a shame to let him go.

Coach Doller has been a great asset to our community, not only as a coach, but as a friend and mentor to many kids on and off the field. It would be a great travesty to have all he's worked for go down the drain. The Sayville lacrosse program is what it is today because of him. My son looks forward to one day playing on varsity with him as his coach. Please don't take that away!! Reinstate Coach Doller!!

Coach Doller is a Phys Ed teacher in the high school. I do not know any Athletic Director or Principal who would not think having the coach in the building with their players has great value. We have a coach with 17 years experience. Running a program, dealing effectively with student athletes and being able to compete at a high level does not happen without experience. Coach Dollar started the Sayville lacrosse program 17 years ago. Starting a new program is by far the most time consuming task a varsity coach can undertake not to mention the time and effort it takes to get an in house travel program off the ground. I speak from experience. I started Mount Sinai's lacrosse program and lacrosse youth league. Moving on from a qualified coach who has put a tremendous amount of time and energy into building a quality program does not seem to be the answer. There seems to be an issue with Dr. Schartner and the Board of Education and Coach Dollar. I hope both sides would agree that the decisions made should be in the best interest of the lacrosse student athletes and not be ego driven. My hope is that both sides will have some positive communication and that this issue will be resolved. I have a son who will be a member of the lacrosse program for the next two years and have written this out of concern for him and his teammates. I write this as a retired teacher with over 30 years experience in the classroom and over 20 years coaching three different sports.

He brought a team to the county championship this year with no other coach there to help. I played under Coach Doller for 2 years and to this day I still believe he is the best coach I've ever had and I played for 2 different coaches at the D2 collegiate level. He made the varsity team become a contender each and every year and his record shows that. He made people love lacrosse in this town that is owned by football. He gets a bad reputation because parents get upset when their son doesn't play and I was on the 2009 Varsity team that won the Long Island championship and people still talk about him getting kicked out of that game which is idiotic because he did nothing wrong to get thrown out of that game. The official for the game had something against Coach Doller and all Coach Doller did was clap sarcastically at a bad call by the official and was thrown out because of that which still to this day boggles my mind. He gets a bad reputation because people don't know the facts. You will lose a lot of alumni support for the program if Coach Doller is fired. He helped me so much to get into the college I graduated from in 2014 by contacting college coaches and sharing game film with them which ultimately led to me receiving an athletic scholarship. I also coached with the Sayville Spartans (a summer travel team) that he put together and all those kids loved it. He didn't have to put that summer team together but he did so that it would benefit the program for the future. Schools like West Islip, Ward Melville, Manhasset and Comsewogue that are ranked in top 50 in the country every year do that every summer and look at their programs. Coach Doller is the best fit for this program and the kids all enjoy playing for him. I don't see how bringing in a new coach would solve whatever issue you have with Coach Doller because you ultimately tear down everything he has worked for to make the Sayville Lacrosse program what it is today.
