The promotion of these harmful methods has finally come to an end. It has been a heavy road to walk but I am relieved that our persistence forced this result. Keep your eyes open to ensure these practices do not find a new way back into our communities.
Please sign this petition to sound a note of protest against the promotion in the UK of Biblical child-training guru Pastor Tedd Tripp's books, resources and philosophy.
In March of 2009 Pastor Tedd Tripp was welcomed and delivered a parenting seminar at Grace Church, Bristol. Pastor Tripp is the author of the infamous and successful book "Shepherding a Child's Heart" in which he openly advocates the use of corporal punishment on babies and children as young as 8 months, including the use of implements and repeated punishments in order to break a child's will. The weblog at Grace Church, Bristol (part of the American-based Grace Church Ministries group) displays and advertises Pastor Tripp's books and resources along with testimonials from church leaders and parents across the UK praising Tripp's methods as an antidote to "positive parenting"
Please sign this petition and add your voice exhorting UK authorities to:
a) halt and proscribe the advertising and advocating by UK churches of child-training resources and advice which constitute an incitement to UK parents to break the law see Section 58 of the Children Act 2004) This is a clear abuse of position by the church leaders and needs to be stopped
b) take steps to ensure that individuals whose practices and methods contravene UK law cannot in future be invited by UK churches to preach to and teach vulnerable UK families under the banner of Christian fellowship
Reaching this point has been an exhausting reality check regarding how many people see the harm in these extreme teachings. I am tired of the uphill battle but seeing this level of concern confirms that we cannot simply look away while children are put at risk.

The law is the law. No one should be teaching people it is okay to break it just because they call it religion.
